Training Fellowship Awards

Clinical Genetics Society Training Fellowship Awards

The UK Clinical Genetics Society (CGS) invites applications from its members for funding towards the cost of the PGCert in Interpretation and Clinical Application of Genomic Data (PGCert ICAG) run by St George’s University of London (SGUL). Trainees within the UK Clinical Genetics training scheme will usually be fully funded for the PGCert via the NHS. These CGS Fellowship awards are intended to widen access to this course for doctors (usually Clinical Fellows) who work in Clinical Genetics within the UK, but outside the UK training scheme and are therefore currently not funded.

The CGS has funding available for up to two awards of £500 annually to contribute towards the cost of the PGCert ICAG course, where NHS funding is not available.

Applicants must be a current CGS member and have an Honorary Contract within an NHS Trust. They should apply in writing (e-mail preferred) to the Honorary Treasurer at the address below.  The application should include a brief CV, a short summary (no more than 500 words) of why the applicant wishes to study for the PGCert and a letter of support from their head of department in the UK.

All awards are granted at the discretion of the CGS steering group.
