'What Does Genomics Mean for Fertility Treatment?' – the 2025 Annual Conference of the Progress Educational Trust (PET) – will explore the impact of genomics on assisted conception and IVF. The sessions include a focus on subjects such as expanded carrier screening, preimplantation genetic testing, polygenic risk scores and the use of donor genetic material in conception (sperm, eggs, embryos, mitochondria) The conference will see experts and practitioners in science, medicine, law, ethics, sociology, regulation and governance grapple with the newest challenges, while also examining longstanding controversies. Confirmed speakers include the Chair of the UK fertility regulator (the HFEA), one of the original pioneers of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), and the former Chair of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
