The field of cancer genomics and recent technological
advances are shapinghow we diagnose and treat cancer.
This skills based course will teach the coreconcepts
of risk stratification using family history as a tool to enable
patients to access appropriate management strategies. It is a
course designed for all healthcare professionals working in primary
care and specialist settingsincluding oncology, breast
care, gynae-oncology, gastroenterology andscreening
services. Participants will be equipped with the basics of
cancergenetic counselling and sessions will include
approaches to genetic testing,management of hereditary
cancers and consent taking.
The course is taught by members of the cancer genetics
team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust who are
passionate about patient care.
